Let vacation time pass sitting on the deck while you enjoy the mountain view. Watch clouds drift by the mountains while colors change as the sun moves west. While crows and ravens may frequent the sky the occasional eagle or falcon could soar by. You might hear brush crushing under the footsteps of a black bear or deer as they meanders around the mountain. A mama bear could exit the brush as her cubs follow close behind. She is teaching her cubs about living on the mountain. Be mindful that small bobcats inhabit the mountains in this area too. They are very nocturnal and know how to stay well hidden. Do not feed wildlife and quietly observe the natural inhabitants that belong here. After all, we are the visitors to their home and playground.
As night falls upon the mountains, you will see a palate of stars twinkling brightly in the sky. Gaze over moonlit Smoky Mountain National Park while you melt your cares away in the 4 person hot tub. Choose to use the tub led lights and low or high jet settings. Soak and relax while water jets rejuvenate your soul. What a great place to visit after a day of hiking on local trails as you soothe your aching muscles. Watch for the twinkling and shimmering lights of Gatlinburg all around Ski Mountain in the distance. When you see that long string of lights going from the top to near bottom of the mountain you have discovered the lights on the ski run at Ober Gatlinburg.
Smoky Mountain National Park is one of the largest black bear protected areas in the eastern US. Bears live here wild and in natural surroundings. They can be found at all elevations in the park and outside the park as they roam about. Remember do not feed wildlife. They will become dependent if fed and risk being trapped by officials when discovered as a nuisance to the public. Trapped, tagged and moved to another area of the park. The worst part is if a tagged bear is caught again as a nuisance. These unfortunate bears risk being destroyed if captured a second time. View, take pictures and enjoy their beauty. Save and protect the bears by not feeding them.

There are actually 4 bears in this picture, one mama and three cubs. Can you find the third cub? We call him Straggler. This sight was observed one day when mama decided to show her 3 cubs around the neighborhood.
